STATEMENT – Tribute to Étienne Davignon

The Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation is deeply saddened to announce the passing of its President, Étienne Davignon.

A dedicated servant of the public good and of European integration, Étienne Davignon leaves a profound mark on the history of our continent through his diplomatic and political vision.

He was also a close and loyal friend of Jacques Delors. Together, they shared a rigorous intellectual bond and a commitment that have long nurtured the work of our organisations.

Today, we lose a precious guide whose integrity and dedication will remain a lasting source of inspiration for us all.

The Boards of Directors, management, and teams of the Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation honour his memory with the utmost admiration. They extend their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
